Managed Agencies

International Recruitment Agencies

WVU contracts with international recruitment agencies to support the enrollment of high-quality students from abroad. These agencies assist prospective students throughout the selection, application, and academic visa processes required for enrollment at a U.S. institution of higher education.

WVU works closely with each agency to ensure staff are thoroughly trained on WVU's academic programs, admissions criteria, and enrollment procedures. Through these partnerships, WVU aims to support students in making well-informed decisions about their educational futures.

Agency Contracting Process

International agencies must complete a structured process before receiving a contract to recruit on behalf of WVU:

  • Application and Identification: Prospective international recruitment agents may request an application by contacting IntlAgreements@mail.wvu.edu. The application covers organizational contacts, mission, and services offered. Once received, OGA and the Office of Admissions reviews the application and contacts the provided references. Approved applicants will be notified by OGA to proceed with contracting.

  • Contracting: OGA initiates the supplier registration and procurement contract process. The executed contract is shared with the agency, OGA, and the Office of Admissions.

  • Onboarding and Training: The Office of Admissions conducts agency training in accordance with university policies, covering WVU's academic programs, campus, scholarships, admissions requirements, application procedures, and key contacts on the international recruitment and admissions teams.

  • Payment: OGA manages initial contract and legal processing and is responsible for verifying student enrollment facilitated by international agents, as well as processing commission and fee payments.

  • Ongoing Support: The Office of Admissions serves as the primary point of contact for agent questions about the application process and provides regular updates on campus news and admissions procedures. OGA supports agents with questions related to I-20 processing and immigration matters.

Standards and Benchmarks

WVU holds its international recruitment partners to clear standards of conduct and performance. All contracted agencies are expected to adhere to the NACAC Code of Ethics and to meet enrollment benchmarks established at the time of contracting. Agency agreements are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure ongoing alignment with WVU's recruitment goals and ethical standards.
