About Us

West Virginia University is a truly global institution, with an international reach and a core mission invested in being the gateway between West Virginia and the world.

The Office of Global Affairs was formed in 2016 to consolidate West Virginia University's international efforts into one central organization. Formed under the Office of the Provost, Global Affairs combines functions such as Education Abroad, International Student & Scholar Services, and WVU's Intensive English Program to create a holistic and centralized approach to internationalization at WVU.

In September of 2016, the Provost appointed Dr. William Brustein to serve as Vice President for Global Strategies and International Affairs. Under his leadership, Global Affairs has seen the implementation of policies and procedures to make the University more accommodating to the needs of our international community.
