Ukrainian Alumna providing services to Defense Units in Kyiv
Yelyzaveta Nepyiko, another alumna from Ukraine, joined West Virginia CIP's Women Veterans program in 2019 sponsored through the Congressional Office for International Leadership. Ms. Nepyiko is a Psychologist and Trauma Therapist for Psychological Crisis Service, a NGO which provides support and rehabilitation of Ukrainian military personnel on a voluntary basis. Ms. Nepyiko is currently providing psychological services and teaching coping mechanisms to Territorial Defense Units in Kyiv.
Deanna Epps, CIP Coordinator at WVU, remembers Ms. Nepyiko fondly from her time with the program: "Another extremely engaged participant from WVU’s Open World’s Program in 2019, Yelyzaveta proved that psychology has just as much a place in veteran aftercare as physical ailments. Evident through her efforts, Yelyzaveta Nepyiko is one of the most capable minds I have had the pleasure of meeting. Her continued efforts in providing the most effective psychological services for the Territorial Defense Units in Kyiv, is extremely important to the Ukrainian efforts."
